To the Selection Committee, my path to State Tech University’s Computer Science program began not in a lecture hall, but under the desks of a local non-profit clinic. While completing my vocational IT certificate, I identified critical gaps in the clinic’s patient data security. I independently audited their network, documenting vulnerabilities that I eventually resolved using firewall configurations learned in my foundational courses. This real-world application of security theory solidified my decision to pursue a BS in Computer Science.
